Blue Raiders headed back to Texarkana for Conference USA Championship

TEXARKANA, Texas — Middle Tennessee men's golf makes its return to Texarkana Country Club for the Conference USA Championship this week. The Blue Raiders will look for their fourth CUSA title since 2018 at the par 72, 6,969-yard course.

MTSU has six players on the roster with CUSA Championship experience, including 2022 individual champion Michael Barnard, defending CUSA Player of the Year Owen Stamper, defending CUSA Freshman of the Year Markus Varjun and Kevin Jegers, who has played nine rounds of CUSA stroke play at Texarkana Country Club.

MTSU finished its regular season at Mississippi State's Mossy Oak Collegiate, led by Stamper, who finished in a tie for 13th at 212 (-4).

The forecast for the tournament starts mostly sunny with cloudy conditions and chances of rain increasing as the event continues.

NOTES

The Blue Raiders are ranked No. 72 in the Scoreboard rankings as of April 18.
Stamper is ranked No. 150 in the nation, carrying a team-low stroke average of 70.8.
MTSU brought back its entire roster from the end of the 2022-23 season, with the addition of freshman Joseph Agee.
Barnard, Stamper, and Kevin Jegers this season have combined for six CUSA Player of the Week awards, tying last season's mark for the most in a season since joining the league.
