FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee women's golf program wrapped up the Mason Rudolph Championship Sunday afternoon. The team improved upon Saturday's score, dropping to a team score of 293, just one stroke shy of its low round Friday. The Blue Raiders remained in 15th place to complete the competition, with a final overall score of 881 (+20). MTSU tallied a team tournament-high 16 birdies on the day, with 10 of those coming on the first eight holes of the day.
For the second-consecutive tournament, Ella Manley led the Blue Raiders as the low finisher for the squad. After a career-low 69 on Friday, she followed it up with two consistent rounds the following days, including a round at par today. After her front nine of the day, she sat at two-under, but a bit of bogey trouble saw her finish the round even. The par round kept her at T38 (+1) for the competition.
For the first time this season, Abbie Lee was the second-lowest Blue Raider after a tournament, finishing at T56 (+4) on the weekend. She played a clean round yet again today, only shooting two holes over par. Her two birdies that accompanied the two bogeys completed her third round at par.
Lanie Campbell was unable to find consistency throughout her round today. While she shot a team-best five birdies on the 18 holes, she finished at 76 (+4) in her final round, landing at T73 (+9) for the competition.
Kendall Maynard was able to keep a clean round on the scorecard today. With three birdies, two of which were on her back nine, she turned in a 73 (+1) on the day to end the tournament at T77 (+11).
Nicole Johnson sank two birdies on her front nine today, finishing at 81 (+9) to complete her competition at T 85 (+18).
Wamsley's Words
"I'm proud of the team, they grinded it out through a tough field," said head coach Lauren Wamsley. "I'm happy for Ella with her finish. It was a great finish for her, especially in the stacked field. The score was great from the team – it's definitely something we can build off from as we prepare to head to Denver in a couple of weeks."
