MTSU Men's Tennis Takes on the Big Apple for the ITA Kickoff Weekend

Murfreesboro, Tenn. — The Blue Raiders men's tennis team is looking to make a splash in New York after a strong start to the season.
The Blue Raiders are riding the momentum of back-to-back wins over Lipscomb and UT Southern on Jan. 18. They head to New York City for the ITA Kickoff Weekend as the No. 3 seed, opening against ITA ranked No. 24 Florida in the first round. They will face either No. 7 Columbia or Miami (Fla.) in their next match, depending on the outcome of both matches.
Keep an eye on the doubles pairing of Rostislav Halfinger and Kacper Szymkowiak, who are coming off two victories against Lipscomb and UT Southern. In singles play, Conference USA Athlete of the Week Shu Matsuoka will aim to maintain his undefeated 3-0 record. Teammates Karim Al-Amin and Jakub Korslakl also carry a two-match winning streak into the tournament.

Florida enters the ITA Kickoff ranked No. 24 by the ITA with a 1-0 record, having dominated Georgia Southern in a 6-1 victory.
