Macander earns second TSWA Player of the Week honors

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Caroline Macander has been named Tennessee Sports Writers Association's College Volleyball Player of the Week on Tuesday, October 21. This marks the second TSWA award of Macander's career and is the third straight TSWA volleyball honors for the Blue Raiders.
Caroline Macander had an outstanding weekend for Middle Tennessee against Liberty. The setter totaled 97 assists, 28 digs, eight kills and five blocks, playing a pivotal role in the Blue Raiders success. Her 53-assist match on Friday is now the fourth best single match assists performance in Conference USA spanning the entire season. During that Friday win, she led the Blue Raiders to 67 kills, a 2025 Middle Tennessee team high and a top 10 CUSA performance in team kills. Macander excels defensively for the Blue Raiders as well, as she notched her 14th and 15th career double-doubles with 16 and 12 dig matches against the Flames, sixth in the conference in total digs. Macander closed out the weekend averaging 9.70 assists per set, 2.80 digs per set and 1.15 points per set.
Caroline Macander has tallied 666 assists averaging 8.43 assists per set and 256 digs averaging 3.24 digs per set this season. Macander is currently second in Conference USA and 55th across all players in the nation in total assists, as well as sixth in CUSA in total digs. Her 15 double-doubles on the season is tied for the most double-doubles by a Blue Raider in a single season during the rally scoring era.
