LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Middle Tennessee cross country heads north for the Louisville Classic on Saturday morning.
Allan Kiplagat and the men's squad aim to continue their strong start to the 2025 season after second and sixth-place team finishes at the Memphis Twilight Classic and the Southern Showcase. Kiplagat led the way with individual finishes of first and third. Transfer, Moses Lekokei, will be making his season debut for the Blue Raiders. The sophomore from Akron finished third in the Mid-American Cross Country Championship last season.
The women look to rebound from a tough Southern Showcase. Senior Faith Nyathi has paced the team so far, winning in Memphis before finishing third in Huntsville. Senior Lily Storey will make her Blue Raider debut at her former school, Louisville.
The men's field will feature 35 teams from across the country, while the women's race includes 49. Forecasts call for sunny skies and temperatures in the low 70s Saturday morning.
The men's 8K begins at 9 a.m. ET (8 a.m. CT), followed by the women's 6K at 11 a.m. ET (10 a.m. CT).
