Men's Basketball opens road swing at Evansville

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee men's basketball team (2-0) is gearing up for its first road test of the season to open a five-game road swing. The Blue Raiders travel north to face Evansville (2-1) November 12 at the Ford Center in Evansville, Ind. The contest tips off at 7 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+ and Blue Raider Network.

- In front of over 7,000 screaming Rutherford County students, MTSU put up its fifth 100+ point scoring contest under Nick McDevitt in the 49-point win over Milligan.
- The second game of the season continues the scoring success from earlier in the week, with the program putting up 109 points on Webster, the second most of any Nick McDevitt game.
- There were 10 double-figure scoring outings in the two contests for MTSU, highlighted by a career-best 21 points from Kamari Lands against Milligan on 9-for-12 shooting.
- In just one week, the Blue Raiders have returned to midseason form in their national rankings, sitting second in the nation in scoring margin at 51.0.
- MTSU's three-point percentage defense continues to thrive, ranking 8th in the nation at just 18.4 percent, while the team averages the second-most three pointers per game in the country with 15.5.
- With a 3.06 assist-to-turnover ratio and a 13.5 turnover margin, MTSU sits seventh and ninth in the nation, respectively.
- With both No. 1 Houston and No. 6 Michigan on the schedule before January, it marks the first time since 2007-08 that the Blue Raiders will take on two top-10 teams in the same season.
- With 11 assists on the season, Jahvin Carter sits fourth in the conference in assists per game, while leading the conference and sitting sixth in the nation for his 11.00 assist-to-turnover ratio, turning the ball over just once last week.

- Evansville defeated Oakland City by a final score of 76-47 in its last contest on Sunday with four Purple Aces scoring in double figures.
- Josh Hughes registered a double-double in the season opener at No. 1 Purdue, finishing with 15 points and a career-high 11 boards.
- Hughes leads the team with 13.3 points per game is tied for the lead with 6.3 rebounds per game.
- Evansville returned just 27.9 percent of scoring and 32.7 percent of rebounding from a year ago, but also returned 70 percent of their total blocks.
- Through three games, Leif Moeller ranks third in the Missouri Valley Conference with an average of 6.3 assists per game. He recorded eight assists in each of the last two games and stands at 19 on the season.
