Middle Tennessee falls to Tennessee Tech 13-3 in midweek matchup

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee dropped a midweek matchup against Tennessee Tech on Tuesday, March 11, 13-3.
Middle Tennessee (9-6) got off to a slow start and couldn't recover against the Golden Eagles. Tennessee Tech (14-4) scored three runs in the first three innings to take a two-run lead into the fourth, 3-1.
The Golden Eagles continued to add runs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings, building their total to 13. MTSU showed life in the bottom of the seventh with two runs, but that wasn't enough as Tennessee Tech invoked the run-rule victory, 13-3.
Middle Tennessee used seven pitchers in the loss, with only Beranek throwing more than two innings, pitching 2.2 innings to start the game.
