Blue Raiders Fall 4-1 to Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Middle Tennessee dropped its match against Louisville, 4-1, on the road.
The Blue Raiders secured the doubles point, clinching it on court one with a seven-point tiebreaker. To start things off, Shu Matsuoka and Igor Mandou Berranger defeated Hamza El Amine and Natan Rodrigues, 6-3. The Cardinals responded with a win on court three, as Kristan Thomas and Rostislav Halfinger fell, 6-2.
The deciding doubles match featured Karim Al-Amin and Ondrej Horak for the Blue Raiders against Kosuke Nakanishi and Andre Steinbach. After a back-and-forth contest, Al-Amin and Horak sealed the doubles point with a dominant 7-1 performance in the tiebreaker, giving Middle Tennessee a 1-0 lead.
Singles play, however, did not go in MTSU's favor, as Louisville swept four straight courts to secure the win. The Cardinals earned victories on courts six, two, four and one. Rodrigues' win over Al-Amin on court one clinched the match for Louisville 4-1.

Middle Tennessee returns home Sunday to close out the regular season with a doubleheader against Wichita State and Tennessee State. It will also be Senior Day, with a ceremony held between the two matches. First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m.
