Blue Raiders Coast to a 7-0 Win over Eastern Illinois

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee capped off the weekend with a dominant 7-0 win over Eastern Illinois.
The Blue Raiders claimed the doubles point with victories on courts one and three. Karim Al-Amin and Ondrej Horak got off to a strong start, jumping out to multiple breaks against Pieke Bouman and Ludolph Wiggett. The MTSU duo secured a 6-1 win en route to their ninth victory of the season.
The clinching point came from Shu Matsuoka and Igor Mandou Berranger, who have been red-hot since pairing up. The duo earned a 6-3 win over William Hayes and Zach White.
With a 1-0 lead, the Raiders carried their momentum into singles play and never looked back. Horak struck first on court three with a straight-sets victory, defeating White 6-2, 6-0. Rostislav Halfinger followed with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Wiggett, extending his winning streak to six matches and marking his 10th victory of the season.
Al-Amin, coming off a win over a ranked opponent in the USF match, continued his strong form with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Bouman on court one, securing the overall clinch at 4-0. But the Raiders didn't stop there.
Berranger notched another straight-sets victory, 6-2, 6-4, over Duarte Trocado. Kristian Thomas delivered a strong performance in just his third appearance of the season, winning 6-3, 6-1 over Gui Cauvilla.
Matsuoka was the final Raider to finish, capping the sweep with a 7-6 (7-3), 6-0 win over Alex Aldaz. He battled through a first-set tiebreak before cruising in the second.
The Blue Raiders' 7-0 win over the Panthers marks their 12th victory of the season as they inch closer to the conference tournament.
