MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee women's golf program has added transfer Jinger Heath to its 2025-26 roster, head coach Lauren Wamsley announced Monday afternoon. Heath most recently competed at Conference USA foe Jacksonville State and is a native of Decatur, Ala.
In her first season with the Gamecocks, Heath was named the 2024 Conference USA Freshman of the Year, earning a nod to the All-CUSA Second Team as well. She played in all 30 rounds for Jax State as a true freshman and posted the third-lowest single season scoring average in program history at 73.30, breaking the freshman record by more than a full stroke. She took home her first collegiate individual victory in February 2024 at UNCG's Advance Golf Partners Collegiate, turning in a four-under-par 212. Heath wrapped up her dominant freshman season by taking home the 2024 National Golf Invitational individual crown, giving the Gamecocks their first ever postseason golf victory. She shot her second-lowest 54-hole total of the season at 213 (-3) to claim the crown.
Her shortened sophomore season saw her play in three tournaments, bringing home a top-10 finish in her second. She led the Gamecocks in scoring averaging, taking 74.25 shots per round while dropping in 17 birdies and an eagle through eight rounds. Her best finish of her second season came at the Powercat Classic which saw her finish in seventh at five-over. She bounced back after a difficult first round to turn in a second round at 71 (-1) and a third round at 72 (E) to lead her team in the competition.
Prior to collegiate golf, Heath was a four-time Morgan County Champion with Hartselle High School and was the runner-up at the 2022 Alabama High School Athletic Association State Championship, helping guide Hartselle to a second-place finish as well. In junior golf, she was the runner-up at the 2022 Alabama Girls' State Junior Championship.
