MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – In one of the toughest fields and courses of the season, the Middle Tennessee women's golf team finished seventh at the Inverness Intercollegiate Tuesday, carding a final 917. Isabella Johnson once again led the Blue Raiders, finishing as the second-lowest player in the field for her first career runner-up place.
Johnson turned in her fifth round at-or-below par of the season on the final round with a 71 (E) to maintain her place in the top two. The sophomore has shot at par or better in five of her seven rounds played this season and kept it clean in the final 18, only needing two birdies to stay at par.
Ella Manley completed her tournament tied for 36th on the player leaderboard with her lowest score of the event at four-over-par to bring her tournament total to 232. She dropped in the most birdies for the Blue Raiders this round at three.
Jillian Bowman finished third for Middle Tennessee at T39. Her 77 (+6) on the day moved her tournament total to 233, just one stroke behind Manley. Brylee Crouse, competing as an individual, finished right behind her at T46, carding a six-over-par 77 as well, for a 237 54-hole total.
Caroline Pardue and Nicole Johnson placed 50th and 55th after turning in an 82 (+11) and 81 (+10), respectively.
