Blevins and Want named to CUSA Softball All-Conference Preseason Team

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Conference USA office has released its 2026 Softball Preseason Awards, featuring Ansley Blevins and Jana Want as a Preseason All-Conference Team members.
A two-time First Team All-Conference honoree, Ansley Blevins is prominent for the Blue Raiders on both sides of the ball. The Jasper, Tennessee native led the 2025 Blue Raiders in slugging percentage, home runs and caught stealing by. Sporting a powerful bat, the catcher's 14 home runs in the 2025 season were sixth in Conference USA and 79th in the nation, a standout offensive performance including going 3-for-3 with two home runs, four RBIs and a walk against Sam Houston.
Blevins was named CUSA Player of the Week after posting a .500/.625/1.000 slash line with a pair of home runs and four RBIs on the week. At the conclusion of the season, Blevins was top ten in CUSA in slugging percentage and home runs, and second in the conference in runners caught stealing. In addition to her accolades on the field, Ansley Blevins was named to the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll for the second time.
Coming off the 2025 Conference USA Freshman of the Year award, being named to the CUSA First Team All-Conference and CUSA All-Freshman Team, Jana Want returns to the Blue Raider lineup in 2026. Offensively, Want led the Blue Raiders in batting average, on-base percentage, OPS, hits, RBIs, runs scored and walks, and led Middle Tennessee defensively in assists. The infielder was Conference USA Freshman of the Week two times during the 2025 season and led all freshmen in the conference in batting average, OPS, home runs, RBIs, slugging, OBP, and ranked second in runs scored.
Want broke the Middle Tennessee single-season program record for walks and broke the program record for single-game RBIs with six in an upset victory against the No. 24 ranked Liberty Flames. She donned a 14-game hitting streak in addition to 14 multi-hit games, reaching base three or more times in 10 games. At the conclusion of the season, Want finished top ten in CUSA in batting average, OPS and runs scored, and top five in the conference in on-base percentage and walks. A Canada native, Want was a member of Team Canada's 2025 Olympic roster. In addition to her accolades on the field, Jana Want was named to the Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll as well as the Commissioner's Academic Medal List.
