TROY, Ala. – Middle Tennessee Softball (0-2) dropped games against both North Alabama (2-0) and Troy (2-0) on the opening day of the Trojan Classic. The Blue Raiders fell 5-1 to the Lions and 11-3 to the Trojans in five innings.

Middle Tennessee faced North Alabama in the first game of the 2026 season. The Blue Raiders scored one run in the game; Ansley Blevins was responsible for two of the team's three hits. Mary Martinez got the start and was credited with the loss, and Braelyn Hall picked up 1.1 innings of scoreless relief, where she struck out three of the seven batters she faced.

In the second game of the day, the Blue Raiders were off to a hot start against the Trojans. Lilly Bethune and Kennedy Chatman both recorded RBIs in the first inning to give Middle Tennessee a two-run lead. The lead was short lived, as the Blue Raiders went on to give up three runs in the bottom of the first and never reclaimed the lead. Tori Coffman got the start, and Hall came in yet again in relief after the second inning. Hall struck out another three batters and pitched two scoreless innings before she was relieved by Elle Hildreth.

By the Numbers

2: Lexi Medlock and Ansley Blevins both started a two-game hit streak after recording hits in back-to-back games today.
3: In her first two collegiate outings, Braelyn Hall totaled three punch outs in each game, now leading the Blue Raiders in strikeouts.
6: Middle Tennessee forced opponents to six scoreless innings across both games today.

The Blue Raiders continue to compete in the Trojan Classic tomorrow. Middle Tennessee will take on Southern at 11:00 a.m. and Chattanooga at 6:30 p.m. at the Troy Softball Complex.
