Blue Raiders head to Jax State for final road CUSA series

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – Middle Tennessee Softball heads to Jax State for another three-game Conference USA series. The Blue Raiders and Gamecocks are slated to face off for game one at 6:00 p.m. CT on Friday, April 24.

The series between Middle Tennessee and Jax State is 15-10 all-time in favor of the Gamecocks. When the two teams met last season, the Gamecocks took two out of three games to secure the series win.

- Onnika Spencer had a phenomenal two games against Memphis in Middle Tennessee's doubleheader with the Tigers. Spencer went five-for-five with two home runs and four RBI across both games.
- Macie Harter is dominating on both sides of the ball for the Blue Raiders. The sophomore left fielder currently leads all of Division 1 in defensive runs saved with 18.6. Not only is Harter a rock defensively, but she leads Middle Tennessee in stolen bases (19), on-base percentage (.457), runs scored (32) and doubles (12).
- The Blue Raiders walked off their second game of the year against Memphis in game one against the Tigers. Ansley Blevins launched her 11th home run of the season over the fence in the bottom of the seventh inning to seal the deal for Middle Tennessee.
- Braelyn Hall is coming off of a stunning performance against New Mexico State in Middle Tennessee's most recent CUSA series. Hall tossed two complete 7.0 inning games where she allowed just nine hits and four earned runs, striking out 15 batters to record a 2.00 ERA and a .191 opponent batting average.
- Jax State enters the weekend 37-12 overall and tops the Conference USA standings with a 19-2 mark in conference play under Julie Boland in her second season.
- The Gamecocks are solid in the batters box; six players entering the weekend with batting averages of .300 or better. Emma Elrod leads Jax State in hits (58), runs score (47) and stolen bases (10), while Morgan Nowakowski leads in OPS (1.004), doubles (20) and total bases (85).
- Makenna Moore is the best in the circle for Jax State, holding a team best 2.56 ERA, a 14-1 record and 101 strikeouts.
