Middle Tennessee men's golf kicks off season with two tournaments

MURFREESBORO, Tenn.- Middle Tennessee men's golf kicks its fall schedule off with a busy slate filled with two tournaments. Five Blue Raiders head east to Waynesville, North Carolina to compete in the JT Poston Invitational as a team event. Five other Blue Raiders will stay in the Volunteer State to compete in the Grover Page Classic in Jackson, Tennessee as individuals.
The JT Poston Invitational runs from Sept. 13-15, while the Grover Page Classic will be a two day tournament on Sept. 14 and 15. Both tournaments are set to be over the span of 54 holes. This kicks off year nine of the Mark McEntire era for Blue Raider men's golf.

- The entry into the JT Poston Invitational marks the second time the Blue Raiders have competed in the tournament. Middle Tennessee first competed in the Western Carolina hosted tournament in 2021, setting the program record for low rounds. The 2021 squad shot a 268 in the first round, on the way to a second-place finish in the tournament. The 54-hole total at 835 is tied for the sixth-lowest in program history.
- Similarly to the JT Poston Invitational, the individual entries to the Grover Page Classic marks the second time the Blue Raiders have competed in the tournament. The first entry was in the fall of 2022.
- Connor Henry headlines this season's iteration of the Blue Raiders on the links, following a junior season in which the Fort Worth, Texas native led the team with a 71.58
- This year's Blue Raider squad welcomes four new players to the 'Boro: four-year transfers Clay Pendergrass and Stanley White, along with freshmen Stiles Hunter and Dylan Ramsey.
- McEntire's squad touts an impressive amount of returning experience this year with four golfers returning from last year's team that played 20 or more rounds: Jake Hopper, Connor Henry, Maddox Crowder and Ollie Baker.
- Transfer Clay Pendergrass adds to the contingent of former Power Four golfers on the squad for Middle Tennessee. Pendergrass spent his first three years at Louisville before transferring south.
- Transfer Stanley White comes to the program with a winning pedigree after spending two years with NAIA powerhouse Lindsey Wilson. During his time at LWU, White was named an All-American twice while winning two conference championships and a NAIA National Championship as a freshman.

- The five Blue Raiders heading to North Carolina for the team competition in the JT Poston Invitational include Clay Pendergrass, Connor Henry, Maddox Crowder, Stanley White and Stiles Hunter.
- The group heading to compete in the Grover Page Classic as individuals includes Ollie Baker, Jake Hopper, Cooper Solberg, Dylan Ramsey and Colgin Youssi.
Scouting the Opponents
- The JT Poston Invitational is slated to have 16 total teams set to tee off, including the Blue Raiders.
- The reigning champion of the event, Southern Miss returns after taking home the crown in 2025.
- Other notable teams competing include Conference USA rival Kennesaw State, Virginia Tech, NC State, Wisconsin, South Carolina and the host, Western Carolina.
- The Grover Page Classic is set to have a 71-golfer field with 11 different programs competing.
- The Blue Raiders are set to be the only team playing as individuals.
- Notable opponents include CUSA foe Missouri State, along with in-state foes Tennessee State and the host, UT Martin.
