Freshman (2014): Played in 84 sets for the Blue Raiders … Fourth on the team with 61 blocks, and second on the team in blocks during conference play … Her .229 hitting percentage was good for second on the team … Tallied a career-high eight blocks against Southern Illinois (9/2) … Notched a career-best nine kills vs. Marshall (11/2) … Hit .400 in the month of November, which is over 100 percentage points higher than her season average (.222) … One of two freshman on the team to record at least 100 points (114.5) … Went over a .300 hitting efficiency in five of six matches she attempted at least 10 attacks … Finished the year with 84 kills and 17 digs
Mount Pleasant HS:Gillard was a three-sport athlete at Mount Pleasant High School in Texas, lettering in basketball and track in addition to volleyball. She was first-team all-district in both basketball and volleyball, while earning second-team all-state honors. In addition, Gillard was second-team all-state in track and the 100 meter dash district champion. Gillard played her club volleyball for Blocksport.
