FIU Sweeps Lady Raiders in Doubleheader

MIAMI, Fla. - Middle Tennessee softball (17-18, 0-2 SBC) was swept Saturday at University Field by Florida International (30-23) 3-0, 2-0, in the first Sun Belt Conference action of the season.
After four scoreless innings, in the second game, by both teams, FIU struck in the fifth inning with two runs on three hits and one Lady Raider error. Junior pitcher Stayc Preator took the loss on the mound, and falls to 4-8 on the season.
In the first game, FIU scored runs in the first, second and the sixth inning to defeat the Lady Raiders 3-0. It was the seventh time this season Middle Tennessee has been shutout, as the team produced seven hits and left six runners on base.
Senior hurler Jennifer Martinez picked up the loss. She falls to 12-6 on the season.
Middle Tennessee concludes its Sun Belt Conference match-up with FIU on Sunday. The first pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 10 a.m.
