Raiders Take Third at Lady Pirate Intercollegiate

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Middle Tennessee climbed the leaderboard to finish third overall at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate on Tuesday. The final round at Greenville Country Club saw the Blue Raiders post the second-lowest mark on the day at four-over par 292, while completing the 54-hole event at 33-over par 897.
GRU Augusta held steady at the top of the board, claiming the title after an even-par 72 final round to finish at 12-over par 876. Kennesaw State finished 19 shots back as the tournament runner-up at 895 (+31).
MT climbed three spots in the rankings, while finishing just two shots behind the second-place Owls.
Host East Carolina ended up 35-over par 899 and William & Mary marked 39-over par 903, rounding out the top five.
Allie Knight carded four birdies, leading the Blue Raiders at two-under par 70 and tied for eighth place (+6, 222). Emily Miller also recorded four birdies during her personal tournament-low round of even-par 72 (+9, T-17th). Avery George shot a 74 and concluded 54 holes tied for 11th place (+7, 223), while Samantha Gotcher (+13, 229) and Emily Williams (+19, 235) rounded out the MT lineup tied for 34th and 59th place, respectively.
MT tallied 26 birdies and led the 18-team field with 172 pars on the 6,088-yard course.
Winthrop's Jennifer Dilger earned the low-medalist spot after firing a two-under par 214 (69-74-71).
The Blue Raiders return to action Oct. 20-21, hosting the Blue Raider Invitational at Old Fort Golf Club in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
