Match Information
ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships hosted by UTC
Tournament History
Maria Josefina Zehnder advanced the furthest in last year's Regional (four rounds), but the top returner is Kim Kermet who advanced to the third round.
Players to watch
Costanza Magazzini – After going undefeated in singles over the opening weekend, Magazzini will look to improve on last year's regional performance. She won her first match in the main draw before falling in the second round. The senior hasn't lost a singles match since last season and will be hoping for a deep run in the main draw.
Luisa Zirilli – Zirilli also went a perfect 3-0 on opening weekend and also went 2-1 in doubles with Magazzini. This weekend, she'll look to extend her singles win streak as well as play doubles with Kermet. The senior returns to the regionals after going 2-2 in last year's championship.
Kim Kermet – Kermet had the highest finish at last week's SMU Invitational, placing third in her draw. Coming off a third round appearance at last year's regional, she'll be looking to play even further into the weekend this year.
Coach's Comments
"I am very much looking forward to competing in ITA regionals this week," said Head Coach Tayo Bailey-Duvall. "Our girls have been working hard on the court fine tuning some areas after our first competitions. I am confident we will perform well and positively represent MT."
