CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. Lidia Burrows reached the Round of 16 as the top finisher for Middle Tennessee at the ITA Regional Championships. Burrows knocked off the #4 and #17 seeds on her way to the round of 16.
Zani Barnard and Costanza Magazzini made the round of 32 while Lee Barnard and Marta Peris made the round of 16 in doubles. Zani Barnard and Barnard/Peris each took down a regional seed and Magazzini took down two seeds in their performances on the weekend.
Coach's Comments
"I am very proud of the performance and effort of everyone at ITA regionals," said Head Coach Tayo Bailey-Duvall. "We had success over and competed well against some very talented teams. Our region is very tough and included former NCAA champions. There were a lot of positives taken away and I am excited and motivated to get back to the practice court as we look forward to our next tournament at Vanderbilt."
Looking Ahead
The Blue Raiders will be back in action after a weekend off when they make a quick trip to Nashville for the June Stewart Invitational. The tournament will be hosted by Vanderbilt and begins on Friday, October 26th and live updates will be available on Twitter (@MT_WomensTennis)
