Blue Raiders Compete at SMU Invitational

Four Blue Raiders made their 2018 fall debuts over the weekend at the SMU Invitational. Each of of the four played in a different singles draw and paired up to play in two different doubles draws.
Zani and Lee Barnard each came in fourth place in their singles draws and placed third in their doubles draw. Kim Kermet had the best finish on the team in singles, winning third place in her singles draw. Marta Peris Herrero finished seventh in her singles draw and also played doubles with Kermet. The pair finished seventh in their doubles draw.
Coach's Comments
"It was nice to be back in the court and get some matches before regionals," said Assistant Coach Olaya Garrido Rivas. "We had some struggles but the girls were able to deal with them and end up better than we started the tournament, which is what we were looking for."
Looking Ahead
The Blue Raiders will be back in action this weekend, traveling to Chattanooga for the ITA Regional Championships. The tournament will begin on Thursday, October 11th and live updates will be available on Twitter (@MT_WomensTennis)
