Raiders travel to Nashville for ITA Regionals

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee men's tennis team will travel out to the annual ITA Ohio Valley Regional tournament beginning on Thursday in Nashville.
"The guys and I are looking forward to the regional. I haven't gotten to see Francisco (Rocha) and Max (Rauch) compete this fall, but I know they have been playing well in practice. The other guys are looking forward to the strong competition that the regional brings. Should be a great event and we will take it one match at a time," said head coach Jimmy Borendame.
This weekend's tournament will mark the Raiders' sixth fall event.
The Raiders enter regionals after competing in the Louisville Invite in Louisville, KY. Leading the Raiders in the tournament, senior Tom Moonen wrapped up the event by clinching the top singles draw over Humpfner, 6-3, 4-6, 10-6.
In bracket D, Presson claimed his bracket with wins over opponents from Temple, Ball State, Kennesaw and Louisville. He cruised through the bracket not dropping a single set to any of his opponents. In the championship Presson took on James Bell of Louisville, 6-2, 6-2.
Raiders will open the regional tournament on Thursday at 8 a.m. CT with the first round of doubles followed by the first round of singles.
On Thursday and Friday, matches will be played at both the Currey Tennis Center and Centennial Sportsplex. Admission to both venues is free.
