FRANKLIN, Tenn. – After only one day back in the 'Boro following the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship, Middle Tennessee Women's Golf is back in action Friday morning as the squad tees off in the Mason Rudolph Championship and Vanderbilt Legends Club.
Head Coach Chris Adams will employ the same lineup she used to start the week in Knoxville, bringing juniors Sophie Burks and Caroline Caudill, sophomores Catherine Caudill and Madison Smith, and freshman Molly Bebelaar to in-state foe Vanderbilt's annual home event.
Caroline Caudill is making her third appearance in the Mason Rudolph Championship while younger sister Catherine as well as Burks are each making their second trip to the event.
"It's been a long week for us already coming off of the tournament in Knoxville, but I expect the three we have in the lineup that have experience here to step up and give us good rounds and leadership.
"With a few competitive rounds under their belts now, Molly and Madison are building their confidence as well and are only going to keep improving on the course."
The Par 72 Legends Club North Course is setup at 6,460 yards and will host 15 teams this week in what is one of the strongest fields in women's collegiate golf every season.
MT will once again see Conference USA foe Charlotte as well as fellow league foe Florida Atlantic in Franklin. In addition to host Vanderbilt, in-state rival Chattanooga will also be in the Mason Rudolph field.
Rounding out the rest of the field are Auburn, Central Florida, Clemson, Houston, Louisville, Mercer, Mississippi State, Missouri, North Carolina and Northwestern.
"It's great to be in this field again, because it's always a good opportunity to test ourselves against strong competition early in the season," Adams said. "We love the opportunity to play in this prestigious of an event and still be this close to home."
Bebelaar will lead off for the Blue Raiders on Friday, teeing off on hole 10 at 9:55 a.m. The rookie will be followed by Smith, Catherine Caudill, Caroline Caudill and Burks.
