MT sweeps Alabama A&M and North Alabama
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee swept Sunday's competition with victories over Alabama A&M, 7-0, and North Alabama, 4-0, at the Adams Tennis Complex.
"We got more guys with matches underneath our belts and got to play outside which is a change that we are getting used too," said head coach Jimmy Borendame. "We were able to accomplish what we needed to do today".
The Raiders played outdoors for the first time this season.
In the first matchup against Alabama A&M, Middle Tennessee jumped out to a quick start with the doubles point win. The senior duo of Daniel Stormon and Max Rauch won their match, 6-1 after Alabama A&M had a walkover on court 3.

The Raiders wasted no time in the singles matches with freshman Patrick Kristensen getting the win over AA&M's Cheng Chang Yang (6-0, 6-2).

Senior Tom Moonen followed up Kristensen's win with win of his own (6-0, 6-2) over Panji Setiawan. Sean Presson was the next Raider to finish after his defeat of German Ruiz Crespo (6-1, 6-0).

Moonen's victory clinched the match for the Raiders, but they continued play for the rest of competition.

Stijn Slump kept it going for the Raiders after taking down Fermin Ruiz Gespo in commanding fashion (6-2, 6-2). Senior Max Rauch round out the action taking the straight-set victory over Natiphat Mulada for the 7-0 sweep.
With that win, head coach Jimmy Borendame gets his 150th win.

"I think the 150th win means that the program is getting better and I'm really proud of the program. It's not just a season, accolade or just mine. It is shared with all the coaches, players and staff that has helped throughout my time," said Borendame.

In the second match of the day against North Alabama, the Raiders once again earned the doubles point with victories from Edge and Moonen (6-1) and Kristensen and Presson (6-2).

Rauch stayed undefeated on the day, earning the first singles point against UNA with his win over Yannick Pfleiderer (6-0, 6-2). The second singles point came off the racket of Presson over Cade Reasons (6-2, 6-1).

Pavel Motl clinched the match for the Raiders after defeating Tim Heslin in outstanding fashion (6-4, 6-2).
Again the teams decided to play it out.
On court 2, Stijn Slump made good work of his match up winning (6-1, 6-2) over Gustavo Girao. Kristensen finished Andreas Hansen off (6-4, 6-2).
Finally, Edge easily took the first set, (6-2) but Cian Maguire battled and -forced a tiebreaker for the second set. Edge finished it (7-6 (10)).
Kristensen finalized his match out for the day sweep (6-4, 6-3).
"It was good to get a couple of sweeps in and wins are always good," said assistant coach Ricky Hernandez.
