Raiders take down Louisiana to open dual slate

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee swept singles play against Louisiana on its way to a rousing 6-1 win in the season opener at the Adams Tennis Complex Monday.
In singles the Raiders came out firing on all cylinders making quick work of the Cajuns with Pavel Motl, Stijn Slump, Chris Edge and Francisco Rocha earning straight-set victories in quick succession to clinch the match at 4-1.
Three-set victories from Tom Moonen and graduate transfer No. 102 Oskar Michalek finished off the Blue Raiders first win of the season.
Doubles was a back-and-forth affair, with the Louisiana duo of Kacper Dworak and Ivailo Keremedchiev taking the win on court one, 6-3, and the Middle Tennessee team of Edge and Moonen earning a 6-4 victory at No. 2.
At the No. 3 position, juniors Sean Presson and Rocha battled in a tight match with Al Sanchez Gonzalez and Orio Fillat Gimenez but the Ragin Cajuns' clinched the doubles point with a 7-5 win.
