Blue Raiders End Weekend With 4-8 Loss to UNCW

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Middle Tennessee baseball concluded its opening weekend with an 4-8 loss vs. UNC Wilmington Sunday afternoon at Brooks Field.
The Blue Raiders (1-3) tied the game twice but couldn't overcome the Seahawks (4-0). The first of two ties came at 1-1 in the second inning as Brett Coker came home on a wild pitch, and the other on JT Mabry's double down the left field line in the sixth, tying the game at four.
Wyatt Morgan's fourth game as a Blue Raider was his best thus far.
The JUCO transfer from Olathe, Kansas, recorded his first Blue Raider hit on a single in the fourth, then hit a two-run home run two innings later to bring the Blue Raiders within one (3-4). Morgan complemented his two hits with two walks.
Also recording his first two hits as a Blue Raider was Tatsunori Negishi in five at-bats.
Eriq Swan threw four innings, allowed four runs (three earned) and struck out three batters in his second appearance in three days.
Fausto Lopez finished 1-for-4 to extend his hit streak to four games.
