MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — No. 21-ranked Middle Tennessee men's tennis defeated Virginia Tech 4-0 on Sunday, Feb. 12 in Blacksburg, Va.
MTSU extended its win streak to five matches and picked up its third-straight sweep.
The Blue Raiders claimed the doubles point against the Hokies. Freshmen Ondrej Horak and Shu Matsuoka won 6-3 on court No. 3. On court No. 2, Pavel Motl and Stijn Slump secured the doubles point, winning 6-2.
Horak continued his impressive start in singles this season by picking up a 6-2, 6-4 victory on court No. 4 to give MTSU a 2-0 lead. On court No. 6, Motl tallied a 6-4, 7-5 win. No. 80 Slump defeated No. 60 Ryan Fishback of Virginia Tech 7-6 (6), 6-3 to clinch the win for the Blue Raiders.
