Blue Raiders tied for second after first round of season

MOBILE, Ala. - Middle Tennessee women's golf finished the first round of its season-opening tournament in second place as a team at 290 (+2). Kendall Maynard and Ella Manley sit among the top 10 individually at the USA Intercollegiate hosted by South Alabama at the Magnolia Grove Crossings Course.
Maynard, making her Blue Raider debut, carded a 69 (-3) to start the season, ending the day in fourth place. She picked up five birdies in the first round.
Manley picked up three birdies of her own in her collegiate debut. The Calhoun, Ga., native shot a 71 (-1) and is tied for seventh heading into the second round.
Molly Bebelaar carded a 74 (+2), picking up three birdies Saturday, and is tied for 24th individually. Lanie Campbell provided MTSU's final counting score with a 76 (+4). She is tied for 34th individually.
Playing as an individual, Abbie Lee shot a 73 (+1). She is tied for 16th after making birdie three times Saturday.
Jillian Bowman, also making her NCAA debut, rounds out the Blue Raider lineup in a tie for 43rd at 77 (+5).
By the Numbers
35 - Maynard's first-round 69 is tied for the 35th-lowest individual round in program history.
21 - Manley's 71 is tied for the 21st-lowest by a Blue Raider freshman.

"We had lots of chances out there today and capitalized on a lot of them, but we need to just hang in there. We have two more days, and I know they will battle to the end. Great start for Kendall and Ella in their MTSU debuts at -3 and -1!"
