Blue Raiders Look to Claim Third Consecutive Win, Host Western Kentucky on Alumni Day

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee women's soccer team (6-7-0, 3-2-0 CUSA) is set to close out its three-match homestand tomorrow evening, as they take on the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers (3-6-3, 1-1-3 CUSA) in an alumni day matchup at Dean A. Hayes Track and Soccer Stadium.
History vs. Western Kentucky
The Blue Raiders will meet Western Kentucky for the 24th time on the pitch in program history on Sunday in Murfreesboro. Middle Tennessee is 6-10-7 all-time against Western Kentucky in 23 total meetings. The Blue Raiders' previous win over the Hilltoppers came in 2017 in Murfreesboro in a 1-0 victory, thanks to a 17th minute goal from Peyton Depreist.

The Blue Raiders enter matchweek four of conference play as winner of three of their last four dating back to Sept. 26 with wins over UTEP, Jacksonville State and Kennesaw State.
Middle Tennessee moved up to fourth in the Conference USA standings by adding three more points against Kennesaw State on Oct. 6, improving their total to nine.
Two Blue Raiders scored their first career goals against the Owls in Kadence Krempges and Faith Adje, with Manon Lebargy and Lexi Dendis supplying the other two.
Lebargy's goal opened the scoring on Sunday with her ninth goal of the 2024 season in the 33rd minute to give MTSU a 1-0 advantage.
Krempges' first career goal doubled the Blue Raider lead in the 37th minute, coming off the assist from Adje.
MTSU would control a 2-0 lead going into the halftime break, after controlling most of the opening half of play.
Dendis would open the scoring account of the second half with her third goal of the season in the 50th minute.
Kennesaw State would get one back 15 minutes later in the 60th minute with a goal by Tianna Rivera to bring the scoreline to 3-1 with a half hour left to play.
Adje would add her first career goal in the 69th minute, and Rivera would add her second goal of the day less than a minute later as the two sides would trade scores in the late stages of the match.
The full-time whistle would blow with Middle Tennessee leading 4-2 for their six overall win this season and their third in conference play.
The Blue Raiders came away with four goals against Kennesaw State on a season-high 19 total attempts, including seven on frame. Lebargy, Krempges, Dendis and Adje were the goalscorers, while Kvaale, Murphy, Adje and Arasaki supplied the assists. Gronauer extended her conference lead in saves with five more on the afternoon, improving her season total to 62.
MTSU will look to return to .500 with a win at home over Western Kentucky on Sunday prior to another road trip starting next week against Sam Houston (Oct. 20) and Liberty (Oct. 27).

The Hilltoppers enter the week in 7th place in the Conference USA table, tied on points with Kennesaw State with six. WKU is coming off two consecutive draws at home last week against Kennesaw State and Jacksonville State, earning them their fifth and sixth points in conference play.
Western Kentucky has come away with points in each of the last five meeting against Middle Tennessee, including a 3-0 win in Bowling Green a season ago.
The Hilltoppers are led by senior forward Kayla Meyer in the scoring department with five goals thus far in 2024, placing her in a share of seventh in Conference USA.
On the defensive end, goalkeeper Maddie Davis currently leads the conference with four clean sheets and is third in saves with 47.
