Al-Amin, Horak Win Doubles Title at ITA Ohio Valley Regionals

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – In just their second tournament as a pairing, Blue Raiders Karim Al-Amin and Ondrej Horak claimed the doubles title at the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals for their first championship of the 2024 fall season.
The win solidifies Al-Amin and Horak's place in the doubles bracket at the NCAA Individual Championships in Waco, Texas on Nov. 21-24.
The Blue Raider duo started the match off strong against Tennessee's Alejandro Moreno and Alex Kotzen with a 6-3 win in the opening set.
The Volunteers would level the score after taking the second set 6-2, forcing a third set tiebreaker for the championship.
Taking the match all the way to the final point, Al-Amin and Horak would outlast Moreno and Kotzen 10-8 in the deciding set to claim their first doubles crown as a pairing.
In the afternoon slate, Al-Amin featured in the singles third-place match, once again facing Moreno from Tennessee. Al-Amin took care of business, defeating Moreno in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 to claim third-place in the ITA singles bracket.
The Blue Raiders are back at home this weekend on Oct. 18-20, as they are set for the Coach Buck Bouldin Classic at the MTSU Outdoor Tennis Facility.
