Women’s Tennis’ Fall Season Ends with Dominant Singles Wins over WKU, EKU on Final Day of MTSU Invite

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee women's tennis concluded its fall schedule for the 2024 season with a pair of singles wins over Western Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky on the final day of the MTSU Invite at the Middle Tennessee Outdoor Tennis Facility.
The Blue Raiders started off the day with a sweep of Eastern Kentucky, winning in all six matchups, including five coming in straight sets. Alessia Truden, winning 10-5 in a third-set tiebreaker, Lena Peyer, Ilaria Sposetti and Rutuja Chaphalkar each won in the first wave of matches against the Colonels, with Eloise Swarbrick and Karen Yibirin both recording wins in the latter half.
In the afternoon slate, MTSU took on CUSA foe Western Kentucky in the final matchup of the weekend. The Blue Raiders took five of six from their archrivals to close out the three-day tournament.
