Blue Raiders through opening round at Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee women's golf program completed the opening round of the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate Sunday afternoon and currently ranks 12th in the competition. The team shot a 12-over-par 296 on the opening 18 holes with two golfers notching eagles on the day.
Isabella Johnson led the way for the Blue Raiders at par for the afternoon. She played a consistent front nine with just one bogey before opening the back nine with a birdie and her first eagle at Middle Tennessee to end at 71, sitting at 14th overall.
Caroline Pardue was not far behind Johnson at one-over-par in the first round. She also played a clean round with just three holes varying from par with a birdie to wrap up the day carding a 72 to place 21st.
Brylee Crouse played the third-lowest round in the lineup today at a 76 (+5). She struggled in the front nine with a pair of big numbers, but was able to reset at the turn to complete the remaining holes at one-under. She sits at T54 in the tournament.
Abbie Lee shot the final countable round for MTSU, turning in a 77 (+6), along with her first eagle of the season. Lee, like most of the Blue Raiders, had her best nine on the back with the eagle on hole 11.
Jinger Heath rounded out the lineup for the Blue Raiders, carding an 86 (+15) in her first round of the tournament.
Middle Tennessee will tee off beginning at 8:55 a.m. on hole 10, paired with Charlotte and Western Kentucky.
