Women's Golf up to fourth through two rounds at CUSA Championships

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Round two of the Conference USA Championships saw the Middle Tennessee women's golf team climb up the leaderboard to fourth after finishing in fifth through one round. The team shot a 298 on the day, shooting 590 as a program after 36 holes.
Abbie Lee shot the low round for the tournament field in the second round with another 69 (-3). The round saw her rise up to tie for third on the overall player leaderboard, dropping in six birdies. The senior has tallied a team-high nine rounds at or below par, three of those being in the 60's.
Nicole Johnson turned in the second-lowest round for the Blue Raiders at a 74 (+2) to sit at T11 in the player competition. The sophomore had just one stretch of three holes where she struggled but made up for it with two birdies on the back nine to climb back up.
Lanie Campbell dropped a few positions on the player leaderboard to T18 and six-over-par overall. She grabbed a birdie on hole 12 and played a clean back nine at par. After a few bogeys on her front nine, Campbell finished the round at 77 (+5).
Ella Manley remained stable on the player leaderboard at 28, carding a 78 (+6) in the second round. She birdied hole four and sits at ten-over-par between the two rounds.
Jillian Bowman turned in an 80 (+8) on her second 18 holes of the tournament, earning a birdie on hole 11. She ranks 27th in the player competition entering the final round.
The Blue Raiders will be paired with New Mexico State and Sam Houston for the final round, teeing off beginning at 7:15 a.m. CT.
