Blue Raiders tie for fifth after opening day at Inverness Intercollegiate

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Upon the conclusion of the opening day of the Inverness Intercollegiate, the Middle Tennessee women's golf program sits tied for fifth at 613 strokes through two rounds. Isabella Johnson leads the charge for the Blue Raiders, ranking second on the player leaderboard on the day.
Johnson opened up the day hot, placing first in round one with the only scorecard at or below par with her 70 (-1). The second round saw her tally a 74 (+3) to shift to second overall at 144 combined. Johnson sits four strokes back from the leader.
Jillian Bowman is tied for 32nd in the individual competition thanks to a strong morning from the junior. Bowman turned in a 74 (+3) to start the second 18 of the day tied for sixth. In the afternoon 18, the junior struggled to find consistency, turning in an 82 (+11) for a total of 156 on the day.
Ella Manley and Caroline Pardue are tied for 35th at 157 (+15). Pardue had a stronger first round, carding a five-over-par 76, before recording an 81 (+10) in the second round. Manley played the opposite of Pardue, shooting 80 (+9) in the morning before rebounding to tally a 77 (+6).
Nicole Johnson rounded out the team lineup for Middle Tennessee, finishing at T51 after two rounds. The junior turned in a 79 (+8) for the first 18 holes, then carded an 82 (+11) in the second.
Brylee Crouse ranks tied for 47th while playing as an individual competitor. The redshirt freshman shot an 81 (+10) to open the day and completed the second round with a 79 (+8).
