Men’s tennis welcomes Presbyterian and Tennessee State to open 2024 spring campaign

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Four-time Conference USA Champions Middle Tennessee men's tennis will start the 2024 spring campaign on Jan. 13 at the Adams Tennis Complex with a doubleheader against Presbyterian at 1 p.m. CT and Tennessee State at 5 p.m. CT.
Head Coach Jimmy Borendame enters his 14th season in charge of the Blue Raiders. In those 13 seasons he has accumulated a record of 238-132 (.643). Borendame has made six NCAA Tournament appearances, named 4x C-USA Coach of the Year, produced 31 C-USA Players of the Week, and led seven teams to finish the season ranked in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Top 50.
To begin the season, the Blue Raiders received votes in the latest ITA rankings that were released on Jan. 3. There are three Blue Raiders ranked in singles: No. 25 Leo Raquin, No. 47 Marcel Kamrowski and No. 105 Ondrej Horak.
MTSU welcomes three transfers to this year squad: Karim Al-Amin, Leo Raquin and Demis Taramonlis.
Three true freshmen made their way to Murfreesboro:
Jakub Kroslak – Braislava, Slovakia
Igor Mandou Berranger – Eaubonne, France
Kristian Thomas – Toronto, Canada
Match One: Middle Tennessee (0-0, 0-0 CUSA) vs. Presbyterian (0-0, 0-0 Big South)

- Saturday's matchup will be the second meeting between the two programs. The first matchup was in 1979 and resulted in a 6-3 win for MTSU.
