Blue Raiders Through Two Rounds at Mercedes-Benz Collegiate

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Middle Tennessee women's golf program held steady at seventh place after two rounds of the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate. The team shot a 300 (+16) in the second round and is set to enter the final round at the Cherokee Country Club with a 595 (+27) overall.
Kendall Maynard remains the lowest Blue Raider through 36 holes, sitting at T14 after carding a 76 (+5) on the day. The senior boasts a 146 (+4) after the second round and will look to gain her third top-15 finish of the season in the final round Tuesday.
Nicole Johnson jumped up 12 spots from round one, coming in at T22 through two rounds. The sophomore had a difficult front nine, making the turn at four over par, but her first eagle of the season and another birdie on the back nine saw her finish at 73 (+2) overall for the lowest score by a Blue Raider of the day.
Lanie Campbell also saw a sizable jump from her round one score, jumping up seven spots to T33. She led the team in birdies for the day, dropping in three on her front nine and another on the back. The junior turned in a 74 (+3) on her scorecard, two shots lower than her opening round.
Ella Manley had another up-and-down round, though she did climb five spots on the rankings up to T50. She tallied two birdies, one on each nine, and wrapped up the day at 77 (+6), sitting at 153 (+11) through round two.
After making the turn, Abbie Lee sat at just three over par, but struggled with big numbers on her back nine, carding just one birdie and four holes at par. She'll look to bounce back in the final round after finishing Monday at 82 (+11), sliding to T58 on the player leaderboard.
On the individual side, Jillian Bowman bettered her opening round score by two, carding a 76 (+5) on the day. She kept her round relatively clean, adding another birdie to her tally, to sit at T55 heading into round three.
