Women's Golf in third through opening round at White Sands Invitational

PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas – Middle Tennessee women's golf program completed its opening round of competition at the White Sands Invitational Friday, ranking third on the team leaderboard with a 303 (+15).
Isabella Johnson leads the way for the Blue Raiders, tallying her ninth round at par or better on the season. The Murfreesboro native shot 16 holes at par en route to her 72 score on the day. The round put her in first place on the player leaderboard as the only golfer to turn in a round at par Friday. Her nine rounds at par or better already tie her for seventh in single season history.
Abbie Lee, Jillian Bowman and Nicole Johnson all sit tied for 12th in the tournament with scores of 77 (+5) on the day. Lee played relatively clean on the day, just finding difficulty on a few of the front nine. Johnson tapped in a birdie on a par-3 on her fifth hole of the day, while Bowman was able to turn in 13 holes at par.
Competing as an individual, Brylee Crouse sits 32nd after carding an 82 (+10) on the day. Caroline Pardue is just behind her in 34th with an 83 (+11).
The Blue Raiders continue competition Saturday morning with another shotgun start at 7 a.m. CT from Ocean Club Golf Course.
