Blue Raiders Travel to Nashville for the Music City Challenge

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee will compete in the Music City Challenge, scheduled for May 1 and 2.
Teams that will complete are Alabama A&M, Alabama State, Arkansas State, Austin Peay, Belmont, Evansville, Indiana State, Jacksonville State, Life, Lipscomb, Maryville, Murray State, Southern Indiana, Tennessee, UT Martin, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech, Troy, Vanderbilt, Vincennes, Western Kentucky, and Xavier.
About Middle Tennessee
At the Bryan Clay Invitational, Juan Lucas De La Fuente finished the 1500 meters in 3:49.85 and the 3000-meter steeplechase in 9:16.86. Moses Lekokei completed the 10,000 meters in 28:55.10, while Solomon Soyo finished the 5000 meters in 14:14.14.
Freshman Gabe Allen set a personal record in the 5000 meters with a time of 14:22.75. Jacinto Gaspar also achieved a personal best in the event, finishing in 14:03.44.
At the Georgia Tech Invitational, sophomore Mustapha Bokpin was named Conference USA Track Athlete of the Week for the third consecutive time on April 21, following previous honors on April 7 and April 14. He won the men's 200 meters in 20.34.
The last time at the Music City Challenge
At last year's Music City Challenge, Faith Nyathi won the women's 5000 meters, while Courtney Green placed third in the 200 meters.
Joel Iheakolam secured first place with a 15.02-meter jump, earning his second victory in the event that season. Laura Odivwri finished second.
